How Programmatic Ads researches, writes, fact-checks and updates its programmatic advertising and DV360 learning content.

Last updated: October 20, 2026

01 Our editorial mission

The Programmatic Ads blog and learning resources exist to help marketers, media buyers, students and career switchers understand programmatic advertising clearly and accurately. Every article should help a reader understand a concept, make a better decision or build a practical skill.

We write for people learning and working in digital media buying, with a focus on programmatic advertising, DSPs, SSPs, real-time bidding, measurement and Google Display & Video 360 (DV360).

02 Who writes our content

Our content is written and reviewed by the Programmatic Ads team, including trainers and contributors with practical experience in planning, buying, measuring and optimising digital and programmatic campaigns.

Articles are published under the Programmatic Ads Team byline. Where a guide is written or reviewed by a named expert, we say so on the article.

03 How we research and source information

Programmatic advertising changes quickly, so we base our content on primary and authoritative sources wherever possible:

  • Official documentation and help centres from platforms such as Google Display & Video 360, Google Ad Manager, Amazon Ads, The Trade Desk and Yahoo DSP
  • Industry standards bodies such as IAB and IAB Tech Lab (for example OpenRTB, ads.txt and sellers.json)
  • Published research and reports from recognised industry organisations, attributed to the publisher
  • Practical experience from running and analysing real campaigns

When we quote a statistic, market estimate or research finding, we name the source and treat third-party estimates as estimates, not facts.

04 Accuracy and fact-checking

Before publishing, we check that:

  • Definitions and explanations are technically correct and not oversimplified to the point of being misleading
  • Platform features, product names and terminology reflect current official documentation
  • Claims are supported by a source or clearly presented as our view or experience
  • Examples, figures and calculations are clearly labelled as illustrative where they are not real benchmarks

We avoid exaggerated promises, invented statistics and unsupported “best platform” claims.

05 Updates and freshness

We review important guides regularly and update them when platforms, products, standards or best practices change. Articles show the date they were published or last updated.

When a product is renamed, retired or significantly changed, we update the relevant articles and explain the change so readers are not misled by older information.

06 Independence

Programmatic Ads is an independent training provider. We are not paid by advertising platforms or technology vendors to feature, rank or recommend their products, and our platform comparisons are written to help readers choose based on their own requirements.

If we ever publish sponsored content or use affiliate links, we will clearly label it on the page.

07 Relationship with our courses

Some articles mention our programmatic advertising and DV360 courses where they are relevant to the topic. These mentions are clearly identifiable, and the educational content of an article is written to be useful whether or not a reader joins a course.

08 Corrections and feedback

If you find an error, outdated information or a broken source, please tell us. We review every correction request and update the article when a correction is needed.
